Bard's been upgraded, is it any better?

Google has announced a series of upgrades for its AI chat service, Bard. These include continuing of shared conversations, a limited set of extensions, and even an upgraded model. It's supposed to be a lot better, but can it compete with Bing Chat, ChatGPT, or even the upcoming Microsoft 365 Copilot?
