Copilot Levels Up: Respond to Calendar Invites Directly from Chat

Another Microsoft 365 ecosystem integration for Microsoft 365 Copilot is arriving: you will be able to respond to calendar invites directly from Copilot Chat.

This type of integration is core to the whole promise of Microsoft 365 Copilot versus pretty much any other AI tool. Because Microsoft delivers both the data layer and productivity layer that Copilot works on top of, seamless extension of natural workflows into the chat experience is a natural end goal of the product. Over the last few months, we have seen consistent value being added in this ecosystem integration space, slowly differentiating Copilot from other offerings and adding important new ways to deliver ROI to those investing in the product.

It wouldn't be unreasonable to argue that it is only now that Copilot is truly starting to leverage the key points of differentiation Microsoft claimed when it was first announced - a product that works seamlessly within the scope of the existing ecosystem you are working in. But for those who tried Copilot and decided to take a different route early on because it didn't feel like it truly delivered on those promises, 2026 may well be the time to plan to take another look. Particularly for SMBs, with the introduction of Microsoft 365 Copilot Business at a lower price point, with the pace of new capabilities arriving right now, there has been no better time.
