Seeing Is Believing: Copilot Vision Capabilities Come to Windows

The Copilot vision capabilities added to Windows yet again demonstrate just how far this technology has moved along since many of us started typing prompts into ChatGPT nearly three years ago.

I'm unconvinced of the imminent death of the keyboard and mouse as now seem to be outlined as a trajectory. Typing is more cumbersome than speaking, but we still have some way to go, in my view, to a point where truly natural conversation with AI makes voice most efficient.

However, the value of what's on your screen as useful context for Copilot is difficult to doubt. The biggest barrier, in my opinion, to seamless AI-driven productivity gains for all is that we still haven't found the best way to give those tools strong enough contextual awareness. Perhaps this is the way.

Yet again though, this shows how Microsoft's broader ecosystem of products gives it a logical foundation for Copilot to a multi-faceted tool that can work with us everywhere.
