For power users of Microsoft 365 Copilot, it’s a tool that changes how work works. Getting more done. Less stress. Better work-life balance. But how do you get from being a new user to being a power user?
In this four-part live virtual training course, AI adoption consultant and Microsoft MVP, Nick DeCourcy, will provide a complete overview of how you can benefit from Microsoft 365 Copilot. The last three years he’s been running this type of training privately for businesses, but now you can benefit as an individual on this public course.
You will get a thorough introduction to all Microsoft 365 Copilot and AI at work concepts and learn how to make the wide range of Copilot tools and features a useful part of your day. From understanding how it works and how to use it safely, to its capabilities inside the apps you use every day, to new AI age concepts like agents and prompting, you will learn step-by-step.
Each course is capped at 30 participants, to give everyone the chance to interact and get their questions answered. And in case you miss a session or two, everything is recorded so you can catch up later.

Session 1: Understanding Copilot — Foundations and First Principles
Session 1: Understanding Copilot — Foundations and First Principles
Before you can get real value from Copilot, you need to understand what it's actually doing under the hood — and the skills and habits that separate people who get results from those who don't.
- What Microsoft 365 Copilot is, how it fits across your M365 apps, and what makes it different from a general-purpose AI tool
- The key generative AI concepts every user needs — prompting, grounding, hallucinations, and keeping humans in the loop
- Hard skills vs. soft skills for AI pilots — from knowing which feature to use, to managing and verifying what Copilot produces
- Responsible AI in practice — understanding the risks and building safe habits from day one
- Finding your personal "aha moment" with Copilot
Session 2: Creating with Copilot — Word, PowerPoint & Notes
Session 2: Creating with Copilot — Word, PowerPoint & Notes
This is where it gets practical. We start with the Microsoft 365 Copilot app as your central hub, then move into the content creation apps where Copilot can genuinely transform how you work.
- The Microsoft 365 Copilot app — your portal for research, drafting, and working across your M365 data, and how to structure prompts to get better results
- Word — creating, rewriting, and refining documents with Copilot, including Agent Mode for more complex, multi-step editing tasks
- PowerPoint — building decks from scratch or from existing content, including the PowerPoint Agent for faster, grounded slide creation
- Loop and Copilot Pages — turning Copilot outputs into shareable, collaborative pages and scoping AI to specific project content
- Copilot Notebooks and OneNote — managing notes, project context, and getting more from your existing content
Session 3: Communicating and Analyzing — Outlook, Teams & Excel
Session 3: Communicating and Analyzing — Outlook, Teams & Excel
The biggest time savings often come from the apps where information is piling up — your inbox, your meetings, and your data. This session also covers how to automate and personalize Copilot so it works the way you do.
- Outlook — drafting, summarizing threads, scheduling, and email coaching to sharpen your writing
- Teams — in-meeting assistance, Intelligent Recap for catching up on meetings you missed, and the Facilitator and Interpreter agents for more effective meetings
- Excel and the Analyst Agent — in-workbook editing and analysis with Copilot in Excel, plus when to use the Analyst Agent for deeper, multi-source insights
- Scheduled Prompts — automating recurring Copilot tasks so they run on a schedule without manual prompting
- Custom Instructions and Memory — personalising Copilot to follow your preferences and retain context across conversations
Session 4: Going Further — Agents, Scenarios & Lasting Habits
Session 4: Going Further — Agents, Scenarios & Lasting Habits
The final session brings everything together — exploring the frontier of what Copilot can do with agents, seeing it all in action through real-world scenarios, and focusing on the habits that turn occasional users into genuine AI power users.
- Copilot Agents — what they are, how to access first-party Microsoft agents and third-party integrations, and what's possible
- Researcher — Microsoft's deep research agent, powered by OpenAI's o3 model and grounded in both the web and your M365 data
- Agent Builder — creating your own custom agents using templates or from scratch, tailored to your specific team or workflow
- Day-in-the-life scenarios — seeing how it all fits together through role-based walkthroughs that show Copilot in real, end-to-end workflows
- What makes an AI Power User — the research-backed habits and tipping points that separate occasional users from people who save hours every week
The package will be billed with a minimum 3-month term at $4,050 per quarter. Discounts for longer term commitments of 6-months or 12-months can be offered on request.
This engagement is designed for ongoing collaboration with a single named individual or small group in the client company in a role responsible for the roll out or leadership of AI within the organization. Unlimited Teams chat is business days only, excluding major holidays and posted closures. During normal operation Teams chat responses will be as prompt as possible with an average maximum of one business day response.
