Copilot Cowork Is Sending Mixed Messages to Admins
If you've been using Copilot Cowork as part of the Frontier Program then that access is ending June 30. The billing grace period expires at that time and you 𝗺𝘂𝘀𝘁 have established a Cowork spending policy for existing users to maintain access beyond that time.
Unfortunately, even if you've already done that, your users might be seeing this warning banner in Cowork today. And depending on how much they rely on Cowork, at the very least I can imagine it has inspired some fairly confused helpdesk calls. If they are already in a spending policy and they hit "Request access", I'm also not seeing anywhere that shows you a notification of that request - I've tested it. (Hopefully your CEO hasn't clicked it 7 times already today)
That certainly isn't the only excitable but flawed Cowork warning. In the Copilot Control System Overview this morning in a tenant with an established all user default spending policy I'm seeing a "Recommended" action to set up credits as "Users can't access Cowork". Clearly this isn't true, but understanding that is my job, in most organizations setting up Cowork has been an unwelcome side quest.
𝗧𝗼 𝗯𝗲 𝗰𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗿: If you have set up a spending policy - this is the usage-based plan - where all your Frontier Cowork users are in scope, then no matter what these UI notifications are telling you, the steps needed to maintain access beyond June 30 have been completed in line with the documented set-up path. It is the notification that is wrong, not your configuration.
