New Microsoft 365 Update Helps Admins Manage Ownerless AI Agents

You'll soon be able to find and manage ownerless AI agents from the Microsoft 365 Admin Center.

Rolling out from later this month, this update can highlight agents that are ownerless (normally due to users leaving the organization) in your agent inventory and help admins remediate that state.

This new capability only applies to Agent Builder agents, or declarative agents built with Agents Toolkit/Teams Toolkit. For those in Copilot Studio, the same type of condition would create orphaned Power Platform assets.

Every step of governance enhancement for Copilot's agents further satiates the needs of IT teams who are confused about how to manage these new tools that have suddenly fallen into the hands of all users by default. I'm sure there will be more to come.
