PowerPoint Slide Creation Gets a Major Upgrade in Copilot Chat

A new experience for creating PowerPoint slide decks is coming to chat for Microsoft 365 Copilot licensed users.

Rolling out from mid-August, this enhancement will build a visually appealing deck similar to the output of Copilot in PowerPoint and save it to OneDrive for your review. This will be a big leap forward from the bland black text on white background 4:3 slides you are able to produce from chat right now.

This is a huge enhancement for Copilot's capability around file creation in chat. But also, still leaves opportunity for future improvements needed to match the ambitions for the seamless back-and-forth interaction that was teased in some of the earliest demonstrations of what Copilot would be able to do.

Better integration between Copilot Chat and other parts of the Microsoft 365 suite is a logical goal for Microsoft 365 Copilot. The hundreds of millions of business devices running Microsoft's productivity software are a moat that no other AI vendor is close to breaching, but only if the combined value is fully leveraged so that Microsoft 365 Copilot users see that advantage.
