Project Opal: Microsoft’s Bold Step Toward AI-Powered Productivity

One of the hashtag#MSIgnite announcements that seems the most exciting is Project Opal. This new Frontier Program capability that couples Microsoft 365 Copilot with computer use and a secure sandbox environment opens the potential for a wide range of tasks we may not have considered as addressable by end users equipped with AI previously.

This pairs the most cutting-edge expressions of AI capabilities with the user assistant Copilot philosophy to offer a glimpse of what how individual end users equipped with these tools could turn the mundane into the done without losing overall control of that work to some fully autonomous process.

And of course, the value Microsoft brings to this type of feature is to position it within the broader ecosystem and compliance approach that works for your business.

I recommend anyone interested in this review the Ignite session BRK280 Project Opal in Action and the excellent demos presented by Rachel Sirkin and Amber Waisanen.
