SharePoint eSignature Levels Up with Inked Signatures and Smarter Metadata

SharePoint eSignature continues to improve as a product, this time with the announcement of the rollout of drawn signatures.

Albeit slowly, SharePoint eSignature, has started to become a more valid alternative to competitors like DocuSign. Open text inputs as part of signature requests (at least those originating in Word) is now rolling out, this new inked signature feature is coming, and on the roadmap is auto-tagging of signed documents with custom metadata so you can track the progress better from a SharePoint view.

In terms of pricing, as a pay-as-you-go per request option, this is set-up entirely differently than the per-user subscription-based options from DocuSign or Adobe, and in my opinion this continues to make it viable option for basic broadly distributed low-volume e-sign needs.
